And Now For a Small Intermission……..

This weekend, in Hobart, the biannual Australian Wooden Boat Festival is on. Many beautiful wooden boats, big and small, are on display all around Hobart’s waterfront. Some are in the water and others are on the shore and all look just stunning. There are displays, music and lots of wooden boat talk.

The photo below has been created using Picasa’s collage feature.

My husband has always been very interested in boats of all kinds and six years ago decided to start building wooden boats. His first was a wooden rowing boat and his second was a clinker built sailing dinghy which took 3 years to build and is on display, on shore, at the festival. It was just too hard to get a photo of the boat in amongst the others on display and the people having a look so here she is sailing.

The design he chose was by a designer called Iain Oughtred. The design is a Gunter Rig Puffin and her name is Miss Mouse.

P.S. This is not his favourite photo of Miss Mouse but it is mine and my blog so my choice of photo.
